Au Lac Designs started in 1998 as an income generation project in rural Vietnam. We worked in economically depressed areas which helped to develop local abilities and so increase sustainable employment.

We found that Vietnamese artisan groups have highly developed handmade skills, which we are able to incorporate into designs that are suitable for US and European markets, This has created a large increase in employment opportunities.

Au Lac Designs became a member of the US based Fair Trade Federation and later a member of The World Fair Trade Association. We continue to work according to all Fair-Trade principles both with our Artisan groups in Vietnam and our clients worldwide. We are able to develop our clients exclusive designs as well as those of Au Lac Designs.
